UNIBOARD'S FOSTORIA PLANT IN OHIO EARNS FSC CERTIFICATION
Laval, Québec (January, 8 2009) – Uniboard, a North American leader of manufactured engineered wood products, is pleased to announce that its plant in Fostoria, Ohio has been issued a Chain of Custody (COC) Certificate by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
“The certification of our Fostoria plant continues to showcase Uniboard’s commitment to eco-friendly policies,” said Lise Plante Product Manager, Panel Business Unit. “Uniboard now has three plants FSC certified, our Val d’Or and Sayabec plants in Quebec and our Fostoria plant in Ohio. The Moncure plant in North Carolina, will be FSC certified in early 2009.
The FSC is an International organization that brings people together to find solutions which promote responsible management of the world’s forests. From a customer perspective, the FSC label represents a promise that is being made to achieve FSC standard and consumers can feel safe in knowing that their cabinets, furniture or any manufactured wood product is the result of eco-friendly policies.
The Fostoria plant is also certified under the EPP Downstream program with the Composite Panel Association (CPA) and meets the requirement of California Air Resources Board (CARB) Phase 1.
