Uniboard Engages Customers With Third Edition of Innovative Training Program

Laval, Québec (May 11, 2010) - Uniboard, a North American leader of manufactured engineered wood products, held its third edition of Uniboard Academy on May 5 and 6, 2010. Uniboard Academy, the Company’s signature information and product training seminar event, was initially piloted in June 2009 and has been a major hit among customers and distributors ever since.

The session, held at Uniboard’s Moncure, North Carolina mega-site, was designed to further educate customers on the Company’s engineered wood products and manufacturing processes in a stimulating and hands-on environment.

“Following the pattern of the first two Uniboard Academy sessions, we decided to keep the group small so that it would remain very personalized and intimate,” said Don Raymond, VP Marketing, Uniboard. “This program has been a huge success for the Company because it gives us a chance to meet face-to-face with our customers, get their insights and answer the questions that are important to them.”

Twenty-five of Uniboard’s top customers and distributors were invited and attended the session, which featured a comprehensive tour of the Company’s Moncure operations, including the particleboard and thermofused melamine plant as well as the new state-of-the-art Moncure MDF facility. Attendees were educated on Uniboard’s entire product portfolio ranging from particleboard, medium and high-density fiberboard to thermofused melamine panels as well as the Company’s line of NU Green NAUF products.

“The goal was to give our customers a truly one-of-a-kind brand experience and equip our distribution partners with the information and tools necessary to increase their sales of Uniboard products,” added Raymond. “In the end, everyone walked away with a better understanding of our products and got a first-hand opportunity to witness the care and precision that goes into making them.’’

Following the seminar, all attendees were presented with a Uniboard Academy diploma confirming the invaluable experience and knowledge gained on the Company’s engineered wood products.
