Nu Green: A TRULY GREEN solution

Users must investigate formaldehyde emissions
before choosing particleboard products with no urea formaldehyde added

Montréal, July 14, 2008 - Are all "green" particleboards created equal? Uniboard, the North American leader in engineered wood products, is raising this question. Users must investigate and seriously evaluate manufacturers' offers in order to make an informed decision before buying particleboard products with no urea formaldehyde added. They should demand that manufacturers supply detailed technical specifications. Even though some products are advertised as having no urea formaldehyde added, their manufacturers fail to specify that formaldehyde emissions from particleboard can reach high levels, in excess of 0.14 parts per million (ppm), compared to less that 0.01 ppm for Uniboard's Nu Green raw particleboard.

Nu Green meets the most stringent industry standards, making it the truly green particleboard solution available on the market today. With no urea formaldehyde added, and manufactured from 100% pre-consumer recycled wood fibre, this particleboard is an environmentally friendly choice. Nu Green is made with an extremely high-quality resin, virtually eliminating all formaldehyde emissions.

The following are key features of Uniboard's Nu Green particleboard:

  • - No urea formaldehyde added in the manufacturing process; no emissions
    (less than 0.01 ppm).
  • - Made from 100% pre-consumer recycled wood fibre, which saves trees and avoids landfill.
  • - EPP (Environmentally Preferable Product) and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified.
  • - Can contribute to achieving up to six LEED credits;
  • - Comes in a variety of dimensions, thicknesses and colours.
  • - Complies with the ANSI standard for moisture-resistant glue.

At Uniboard, environmental stewardship is not just about the present - it's also about the future.
