Montreal, April 26, 2007 – Uniboard is pleased to launch its first-ever green product, Nu Green, a raw particleboard that contains no urea-formaldehyde. Nu Green particleboard is certified as an Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) by the Composite Panel Association (CPA). It contains 100% post-industrial wood fibers, protecting trees and avoiding waste disposal. Because the manufacturing process for Nu Green raw particleboard requires no urea-formaldehyde, it produces emissions that do not exceed normal outdoor levels. Nu Green also helps professionals obtain LEED credits and points in either of the two categories: Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ 4.4) and Materials and Resources (MR 4.1, 4.2, 5.1 and 5.2.

Our Sayabec manufacturing plant
Nu Green is manufactured at Uniboard’s facility in Sayabec, Quebec. It is composed mostly of spruce, pine and fir, all recognized for their yield and light weight, and its low density gives it a major advantage. In addition, thanks to resin technology, Nu Green meets ANSI standards governing moisture resistant glue.
