NU GREEN® 2 NAUF MDF LAUNCH EXTENDS UNIBOARD®’S NU GREEN OFFERING ::: One of the most competitively priced eco-friendly boards on the market
Laval, Québec (February 14, 2011) - Uniboard®, a North American leader of manufactured engineered wood products, is pleased to announce the launch of its NU Green™ 2 NAUF MDF product line. With the use of a cost-effective resin, this MDF panel with no added urea-formaldehyde (NAUF) will be one of the most competitively priced eco-friendly boards available on the market.
“At Uniboard, we pride ourselves on environmental stewardship.” says Lise Plante, Product Manager, Uniboard. “By introducing NU Green 2 NAUF MDF, we are supplementing our eco-conscious collection and reinforcing our commitment to this initiative.”
Uniboard’s state-of-the-art resin keeps manufacturing costs at a minimum, while maintaining formaldehyde emission levels in accordance with CARB (California Air Resources Board) Phase 2 standards. Based on the positive response of NU Green 2 NAUF particleboard, we expect NU Green 2 NAUF MDF to be well received by both industry builders and manufacturers. With the recent implementation of CARB Phase 2 production standards this past January, these panels will ease the economic strain on those facing the premium cost of using the required environmentally friendly products.
Uniboard has already begun production of the NU Green 2 NAUF MDF panels, which will be available in Classic Grade 130, at its Mont-Laurier site in Quebec, Canada. Similar to many Uniboard NU Green products, NU Green 2 NAUF MDF is made using 100% pre-consumer recycled or recovered wood fiber, which saves trees and avoids landfill. The panels are both FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and EPP certified (Environmentally Preferable Product by the Composite Panel Association).
NU Green 2 NAUF MDF key features are as follows:
• NAUF (No Added Urea-Formaldehyde)
• Meets CARB Phase 2 emission standards
• FSC and EPP certified
• Made from 100% recycled and recovered wood fiber (pre-consumer)
• Low-density ANSI Grade 130 means a reduced transportation footprint
